Yea, I'm a huge Suikoden fan. Probably not as big a fan as other
Suikoden fans tend to be but I'm still a fan of the games & series.
:3
Anyway, I would love to play the next installment of the
series being in that I would love to play Suikoden 6; but unfortunately
for me the group who developed the series with in Konami has broken
apart. =/ So, I've been looking for a replacement game to become my
Suikoden 6 in essence. In my mind; the game has to have the essence of
Suikoden in order to pass & that game.
You want to know what
my Suikoden 6 is? Well; it's Radiata Stories! By SquareEnix. Now wait;
wait a minute before you get upset that I'm not
blog posting about an official Konami game, at least read my reasoning as to why I think the way I do.
Ok,
first of all you start of as Jack Russel a character who gets recruited
into the knights because of his potential. (Much like Suikoden 2 when
you see the hero working for the Empire as a solider.)
As the
game progresses you get to meet Elves (much like Suikoden 1) and much
like the Suikoden games there's a war that erupts from the two fractions
& you have to choose a side. You can either help the human side or
help the elf side. Now impo, the Suikoden games could have very well
made this game progression because in Suikoden 3 there was already some
hints to the coming of a race war of some kind.
So maybe if this
were Suikoden 6, you could choose your side weather you wanted to help
keep the human race survive, or if you wanted to help the elf (Dwarfs,
etc) race survive. I think it would be a very interesting way to go
about playing a Suikoden game.
But, you can only recruit up to 177 characters in this title & that's 69 more
characters you can recruit compared to only being able to recruit the
108 stars of destiny.
*So, for my gameplay of Radiata Stories,
I'm pretending that it's my Suikoden 6. Jack's sister in my version of
this game as Suikoden 6 is Leknaat reborn. She holds in her hands Jack's
destiny sword which he can only claim when he is ready for it. (Much
like the runes that the hero is destined for Jack is destined for the
sword). The runes are no more because in this game the dragons created
the world & with them the runes. When one of the dragons is killed
off by (the hero) Jack's father, is when the runes are no longer of that
world since all the dragons need to be alive for the rune magic to
fully work. As for the reason as to why your allowed to recruit 177
characters over 108 is due to the fact that once the dragon was killed
& the runes essentially whipped out; your no longer confined to the
restrictions of just recruiting 108 characters & your roister opens
up to allow for more recruitment.
*Note: Now just so all of the
Suikoden fans are aware: this is all just speculation on how rune magic
would work for this game & world since I'm essentially turning this
game into my own Suikoden 6, with idea's & reasons why a lot of
characters don't show up & are just reborn as others. Same with why
the runes are gone, since in most SquareEnix created worlds that have
dragons, they are the ones that made the world & in the Suikoden
series the runes made the world, ie; the dragons made the world &
the runes first before creating anything else & when one of the
dragons dies the runes would die out too. Thus no more runes to use.
Also I put a lot of thought & effort into this; so please don't be
upset. Just please just read my post with an open mind is all I ask.
Thank you for taking your time to read my blog post. :3
